Blood and fat pool in the corner of a cold plate. The latter has begun to congeal. The person who got to enjoy this food is now dead in the back yard. The report will read “self inflicted gun shot wound to the head”. The report will have been completely fabricated.

Doctor Strange #24 (Marvel)

Dennis Hopeless (W) Niko Henrichon (A)

Man. Just give me a tie-free issue now. This arc hasn’t been bad, but it’s kinda pointless since I haven’t read Secret Empire yet. Dammit.

Batman/The Shadow #5 (of 6) (DC)

Scott Snyder/Steve Orlando (W) Riley Rossmo (A)

I feel like the last issue of this book was kinda boring. I really want to like this book, but it just isn’t making that big of an impact on me.

Generations: Unworthy Thor & The Mighty Thor #1 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Mahmud A. Asrar (A)

There are only a couple of these tie-ins that I’m actually picking up. Mostly because I’m not entirely sure what the point of these Generations things are. Sure we get New/Old team up stuff, but is that it? Is there no other point?

X-O Manowar #6 (Valiant)

Matt Kindt (W) Doug Braithwaite (A)

The finale to the first arc is here. Is it everything we hoped for? Will it cure cancer? Is it going to be a comic book or some sort of multimedia extravaganza? Hopefully we get at least one answer.

Detective Comics #963 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Carmen Nunez Carnero (A)

We get some answers about Spoiler! I mean, not really what I wanted answers about at the moment, but I’m totally down.

Black Hammer #12 (Dark Horse)

Jeff Lemire (W) David Rubin (A)

New artist on the issue. Answers about the past, but one question remains. Will we ever get out of this god damned town?

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #3 (Marvel)

Chip Zdarsky (W) Adam Kubert (A)

Johnny Storm and Peter Parker are one of the best bro-mances in comics. I’m glad that this series is capitalizing on their relationship.

Daredevil #25 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Alec Morgan (A)

Did Matt fuck up royally? I won’t pretend to get all that lawyer stuff, but I do get comics, and my guess is probably. I mean, you’ve read Daredevil before, right?

Shirtless Bear-Fighter! #3 (of 5)

Jody Leheup/Sebastian Girner (W) Mike Spicer/Nil Vendrell (A)

This series is going to be a cult classic. I just can’t get enough of it and neither can the comic nerds at my local shop. Do yourself a favor and pick this series up. If you can’t get the first issues, wait for the trade. It’s worth your time.

Redneck #5 (Image)

Donny Cates (W) Lisandro Estherren (A)

Demonic pastors. What’s not to love in that combination of words?

Generation Gone #2 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Andre Araujo (A)

I love Kot’s work, but this series even topped my expectations. It’s a beautifully crafted comic, jump on the bandwagon before all the cool kids leave you in the dust and laugh because you fell and hurt your knee. I’m not suppressing anything, stop saying that.

Renato Jones: Season Two #3 (of 5) (Image)

Kaare Andrews (W) Kaare Andrews (A)

If you aren’t reading this then I am sorry for you. That’s it. Just sorry that you missed it.

The Dying and The Dead #5 (of 10) (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Ryan Bodenheim (A)

I’ve been waiting fucking long enough. Give me what I want. I need it now.

Harold sits outside of the same house, on the front steps. He smokes a cigarette and a cool calm washes over him. Lights from the police cars that have arrived paint him into the wall behind him. He is just a shade, an illusion. Some cops walk by and briefly make eye contact before looking away. As he ashes the last of his cigarette onto the newly painted deck, he coughs into his sleeve. He knows well enough not to look for blood. He takes a few leisurely steps into the street. It’s late and he has a long walk home.
