The clueless customer was wandering around the new trades section. Mark stared at the holy grail that was plopped so casually on his table. Only out of the corner of his eye, of course, as not to cause a scene. The man who just walked into his shop had brought in a stack of miscellaneous issues from various yard sales. As is customary, Mark had told him to wait while he looked through them. When he lifted the first book it was sitting crisp and new on top. The first appearance of Sir Spaghetti. The Italian themed superhero that spawned a dozen video games and not one, not two, but three highly successful film franchises.

Suicide Squad #26 (DC)

Rob Williams (W) Stjepan Sejic (A)

I totally forgot about Nightwing last week, but this little tie-in is actually really cool because it matters to the main story! I mean, it kinda just explains where these characters are during the whole mess, but I think that counts for something.

Batman/The Shadow #6 (of 6) (DC)

Scott Snyder/ Steve Orlando (W) Riley Rossmo (A)

The last issue of this limited, and while it wasn’t bad, it kinda started getting weaker for me towards the end. To each their own.

Batman: The Murder Machine #1 (DC)

Frank Tieri (W) Ricardo Federici (A)

After reading Red Death, I am super pumped for these one shots. They are fucking eerie. Well, if the first one is the model at least.

X-O Manowar #7 (Valiant)

Matt Kindt (W) Clayton Crain (A)

New arc, new mission, same old suit. This series has been fucking great since issue one, if you aren’t reading this already, start now. You won’t regret it.

Detective Comics #965 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Eddy Barrows (A)

We get those big answers in this issue. You know the one about that character who “died” but didn’t really “die” and now their back. You know, those questions.

Black Panther #18 (Marvel)

Ta-Nehisi Coates (W) Chris Sprouse (A)

This series continues to get better and better. I will admit, there was a little bit of a lull in the middle there, but it’s back with a fury.

Wonder Woman #31 (DC)

James Robinson (W) Carlo Pagulayan (A)

New team. Thank God. I am interested to see how this series goes. I am a big fan of some of Robinson’s stuff, while other things have been less interesting to me. I can only imagine he’ll do great on this series.

The Mighty Thor #23 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Valerio Schiti (A)

Two Thors fight, one comes out. Or two, maybe even a third. Who knows?

Marvel Legacy #1 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Esad Ribic (A)

Read a good chunk of this the other day, and while most of it seems to be a recap for the current Marvel Universe, there is a badass little story going on that could change things for a while to come.

Thanos #11 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire (W) German Peralta (A)

As Freud once said, “ EVERY SPACE DUDE TOTALLY WANTS TO KILL HIS SPACE DAD. #FREUDLIFE”. His twitter account was promptly banned.

Infamous Iron Man #12 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Alex Maleev (A)

Holy shit, I wasn’t aware this was ending. Now I am very sad. I may even drop the other Iron Man title too. Not because of this necessarily, but because hopes that this would connect with that kept me on that book. Damn.

Redneck #6 (Image)

Donny Cates (W) Lisandro Estherren (A)

Man, who thought the life of a vampire would be so fucked up? Okay, probably a lot of people throughout history. Honestly, I’m just late to the party.

The Hard Place #2 (of 5) (Image)

Doug Wagner (W) Nic Rummel (A)

The first issue of this comic was really fucking strong. I am really excited for the rest of it now. It’s about all the shit that comes with being in prison and getting out into the real world. I dig it.

Pakis #5 (Image)

Dustin Weaver (W) Dustin Weaver (A)

This series is absolutely fantastic. I mean, not only is there an ongoing storyline in the book, but you get some bonus short stories each issue. Plus, I mean come on, that art is amazing.

Southern Bastards #18 (Image)

Jason Aaron (W) Jason Latour (A)

So happy this book is back. It’s such a fucked up story. If you aren’t reading this book, you are a bad person.

Saga #47 (Image)

Brian K. Vaughan (W) Fiona Staples (A)

Come on. What do I have to say to get you to read this? If you aren’t I feel like I can’t convince you. It’s a space drama with lots of heart and also dicks. There are you happy.

Black Monday Murders #7 (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Tomm Coker (A)

Fuck I love this book. It’s so dreadful. In a good way. Dreadful in the best way. Which is totally the name of my band.

The man wandered back over after a few minutes. As he approached the table, Mark had a moral dilemma on his hands. Keep the book, take it off of the man who clearly had no idea or care what he had, or give it back to the idiot. Almost as if he weren’t in control of his own limbs, he found himself shakily placing the copy in the strangers hands. Not a mark on his face of recognition. Mark felt like vomiting.
