You wake with a start. Something sudden moves past your window. Dashing your fear aside, you run to the window and are greeted with a great relief. It’s snowing. A warmness washes over you as you are taken back to your childhood, running through the snow, the heaviness of a sharp breath of frozen air, days off of school. You smile. Then something happens, something you try to understand. A red snowflake. You see one or two at first, but before long torrents of blood red snow are pelting the earth. Top of the Stack.
Batman and Robin Eternal #18 (DC)
Ed Brisson (W) Tony S. Daniel (A)
There is so much going on in this series, and I cannot tell you about any of it. I mean I could, but that’s like explaining the points in a detective novel. The smallest hint could ruin the story. So, just trust me. This is a solid story.
A-Force #2 (Marvel)
Willow G. Wilson (W) Jorge Molina (A)
This series starts out introducing a brand new character that I am already in love with. Okay, so actually, the character was introduced in the Secret Wars arc, but I consider this a reintroduction. All that being said, I just found out that a new team is starting on this comic for issue six. I don’t like change, but we’ll see where it goes. I always like supporting up and coming talent.
Batman Europa #4 of 4 (DC)
Matteo Casali (W) Gerald Parel (A)
I like this series, I really do, but I wish Brian Azzarello had stayed on for it. I know there is a reason that he only wrote one issue, but I felt a little cheated when I realized that fact. That being said, it has been a very intriguing Batman and Joker team up.
Exodus: Life After #3 (Oni Press)
Joshua Hale Fialkov (W) Gabo (A)
If you had the chance, what would you say to God? I mean God is kind of a dick, so this would be assuming he/she/it would even acknowledge you. If she/he/it did though, what would you say? What would you say if you were really pissed off at them? In this issue we talk to God.
Doctor Strange #5 (Marvel)
Jason Aaron (W) Chris Bachalo (A)
What is a doctor without his tools? Sure there is a knowledge one can rely on, but with what instruments would they conduct their symphony with? What becomes of Strange when mysticism dies? I guess we’ll find out
Velvet #13 (Image)
Ed Brubaker (W) Steve Epting (A)
This series has been on hiatus for three months in the middle of an arc. You guys know how much that irks me. That being said, I think it may have been so that Brubaker could wrap up The Fade Out, so I can ease up on him a little. Very excited for the return.
Nailbiter #20 (Image)
Joshua Williamson (W) Mike Henderson (A)
SOMEONE IMPORTANT DIES!! That’s what the solicitation says at least. I’m down. They’ve been hinting at something for a while now, but you know how that goes. I expect a death from way out in left field. Yippee!
Paper Girls #5 (Image)
Brian K. Vaughan (W) Cliff Chang (A)
Oh geez, more major plot points. Apparently shit is going to hit the fan in this issue. There is a final page that is teased as “A FINAL PAGE THAT WILL COMPLETELY TRANSFORM THE BOOK’S STATUS QUO”. You know the deal, prepare to have your brains blown out. Figuratively, of course.
A lot of changes this week. The only thing that doesn’t change is your underwear. HA! Burn. Ah, you are such a loser. See you next week.
