Another big week for Marvel, but really, when is my pull list not a big week for Marvel. A lot of stuff going on for the bajillionty events going on in the Marvel universe. Some super cool Image series and my favorite writers make multiple appearances, not so bad.
Axis: Carnage #2 of 3 (Marvel)
Rick Spears (W) German Peralta (A)
So far these mini-series tie-ins haven’t brought the thunder like I had been hoping for. Actually nothing involved with Axis has really broughtthe thunder except the namesake so far. Here’s to hoping things get a little better.
Axis: Revolutions #2 of 4 (Marvel)
Frank Tieri (W) TBD (A)
As I said before, these aren’t really memorable, being that I can’t tell you what even happened in the last issue of this comic. Either way, I’m hanging on for the payoff.
Dennis Hopeless (W) Greg Land (A)
Very Excited for this one, in a weird way. I’ve liked her character recently in Infinity, Original Sin, Secret Avengers and Spider-Verse, but I don’t know how I’ll feel about this one. Only one way to find out
Nick Spencer (W) Marco Checchetto (A)
This is the first issue to tie-in to Axis. I’m excited to see how shield along with our ragtag band(s) of heroes deal with the fallout of inversion.
Loki: Agent of Shield #8 (Marvel)
Al Ewing (W) Lee Garbett (A)
I don’t normally follow this series, but I am enjoying these tie-ins a lot. Even with the new Loki status quo thing going on. Interestingly enough we get a glimpse of a myriad of Loki’s on the cover. Something I feel we will be seeing a lot more of as Secret Wars approaches.
Kyle Higgins (W) Jason Fabok (A)
The last issue’s reveal was epic, if you aren’t reading this comic I won’t spoil it for you. Let’s just say Batman is about to be seen as a major threat to Gotham, more so than usual.
Cullen Bun (W) Gabriel Hernandez Walta (A)
Really digging this Tie-in. It really effects Magneto and you can see his pain in the issues. Excited to see how inversion taints his mind.
Amazing Spider-Man #10 (Marvel)
Dan Slott (W) Olivier Coipel (A)
Spider-Verse has begun. Dun Dun DUUUN. Seriously though, it’s living up to the hype and this next installment brings in our favorite “Evil” Spider-man. Well, evil is relative. Superior Spidey is back, baby!
Kurt Busiek (W) Tom Grummett (A)
We are getting, what I imagine, will be a pretty cool story with this issue. They tackle the tropes and inner workings of characters like Thanos, Darkseid and the like with a look into the “rise and fall” of Krigari Ironhand, the greatest enemy of the Honor Guard, an archetype of the Avengers or the Justice League.
Dream Merchant #6 of 6 (Image)
Nathan Edmondson (W) Konstantin Novosadov (A)
Woop Woop, the finally to the series. Our hero is missing and the dream world is seeking to take back it’s world. Who will be left standing, who will save our planet? I am also excited for this.
Haden Blackman (W) Michael Del Mundo (A)
Elektra takes on Shield. Seriously, that’s what this arc is about. I’m pumped for it, I love a good anti-government agency story and Shield is the agency we love to hate.
James Robinson (W) Leonard Kirk (A)
Well, Apparently the blue suits are back? Not that thats a bad thing, but I mean, why? I guess we’ll find out in this weeks issue. Also Thor is back, only, you know, evil. Also PRISON BREAK!
Nathan Edmondson (W) Mitch Gerads (A)
Welcome back to the filth soaked land of LA, Castle. We missed you. No seriously, clean up the mess you left.
Brian Wood (W) Greg Smallwood (A)
Hey! Remember the Moon Knight’s psychiatrist? Me neither, well vaguely, I think. Either way, She’s back and apparently she isn’t so good with the not being mysterious thing.
Nathan Edmondson (W) Phil Noto (A)
ANDERSON COOPER. He makes an appearance, or a cameo, or is just mentioned or something. I’m going with allegation. Either way, Black Widow teams up with the Howling Commandos or someone like that, but who cares because ANDERSON COOPER. But seriously, I am very interested in the Howling Commandos bit, being that they are currently trying to off one Mr. Castle.
The Multiveristy: Pax Americana #1 (DC)
Grant Morrison (W) Frank Quitely (A)
We visit Earth-4 in the newest issue of Grant Morrison’s alternate universe spanning epic saga. This issue is packed with another crazy gimmick! It’s told backwards, sweet, I guess. It starts an unlikely group of characters, The Question, Blue Beetle, Captian Atom and more as they try to solve the mystery of the president’s assassination.
Mark Waid (W) Chris Samnee (A)
Daredevil explores the fun and happy world of crippling depression as the purple children take hold of his emotions. Mark Waid has a brilliant way of explaining very human feelings and I can’t be more excited for him to tackle this foe. Literally and figuratively
Guardians of the Galaxy #21 (Marvel)
Brian Michael Bendis (W) Valerio Schiti (A)
HEYO! The first issue after the earth shaking story told as part of the Original Sin Tie-In, this time we get to visit the symbiote planet. I am really excited for this, being a kid of the nineties, I have always been fascinated by the symbiotes. It will be cool to see the breakout characters of 2014 tackle these host harnessing harmfuls.
Charles Soule (W) Pepe Larraz (A)
Super excited for where this series is going. We have seen what Black Bolt and Maximus have been up to and now it’s time to save theking. A lot riding on the heads of our newest Inhuman members.
Rick Remender (W) Terry Dodson (A)
Holy crap, again! You guys, this last issue of Axis was crazy hard hitting, I think I’m getting used to Remenders departure from his usual dark depressing stories in favor of this ligher story. At least I thought I was, until that stopped. This issue is the last of Book 2, what happens here sets the field for the last stretch of the saga.
Rick Remender (W) Wesley Craig (A)
Last issue we find out why our antagonist has such a violent bloodlust, now we get to face him head on. This comic always makes me happy, fantastic story with excellent pacing. Definitely one of my favorites.
Jonathan Hickman (W) Stefano Caselli (A)
Here we go, man. This is the coolest thing that I’ve seen in a long time. The Avengers are scattered the world has been changed and now we look for the last of the Illuminati. Hope looks futile, nothing can stop the inevitable.
Jonathan Hickman (W) Kev Walker (A)
Here we go, man. This is also the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. The Illuminati is on the run with some new members, as they try to piece together a world that is looking more and more dire every day. Secrets are kept, broken and forged. This is the end.
Ales Kot (W) Adam Gorham (A)
So, our character has started a new life for himself. That doesn’t mean everything is fine. After years of piece his world is falling apart again after the Agency gets close to finding him. Where does this rat race end?
There ya have it. A big ole pull list. As we get closer to the holidays, the pulls only get Smaller. Funny how that works, funny in a “weight of the world off my shoulders kinda way”!
