Towelites! It’s Friday and it’s time to round-up some of the best toy news from this past week. Hang out with me for a few as I run through my picks.
Super 7 recently announced their MOTU Classics Filmation Laughing Prince Adam SDCC exclusive figure. When the announcement first dropped there wasn’t any guarantee that people not attending the show would be able to pick up the figure. Super 7 came back with positive news that a made-for-order preorder for the figure would be launched in the near future. Hence why I love Super 7 over many companies these days. Here’s the official word from Super 7!
As previously announced, Laughing Prince Adam will be available at our Hordak’s Lair pop-up event during San Diego Comi-Con. However, for those who cannot attend Comic-Con we are launching a pre-order for Laughing Prince Adam on Monday, July 9th that will close on Sunday, July 22nd. The price is $35 per figure which is the same as it will be in San Diego. A link to the pre-order site will be posted and shared next Monday.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will NOT be a pick up option for pre-orders at Comic-Con or the Hordak’s Lair Pop-Up Event. The figures that are pre-ordered online will be received in October when they are shipped from our factory. The pre-orders will be made to order and the existing Laughing Prince Adam stock will only be available during San Diego Comic-Con for in-person purchases only.
By doing this we hope that everyone who wants to bring Laughing Prince Adam into their lives can do so.
I collected the Reaction Alien series for a long time. From its humble beginnings at Super 7, to the safekeeping of Funko and back again to Super 7. I haven’t kept up on my collection as of late but the SDCC exclusive this year has me in a tough place. Could I reignite my love of the series? Well a mashup of the vintage Star Wars Hammerhead figure and the xenomorph is a damn good reason! As of right now the figure is only available at the show but I am sure that Super 7 will have some for us not able to make it. HOPEFULLY 🙂
There will be some new Terminator 2 action figures in our collections soon! Check out the official press release from Creative Licensing!
Creative Licensing Announces New Terminator 2 Collectible Figure Licensee
Creative Licensing, the worldwide merchandise licensing agent for Studiocanal S.A.S., announced today that they granted Great Twins Pte Ltd. of Singapore the exclusive rights to produce 1/12 scale high-end figures based on “Terminator 2:Judgment Day.” The Great Twins line will include figures based on the T-800 (in both human and robotic form), the T-1000, Sarah Connor and John Connor.
Great Twins reports that the pre-order exclusive set for the T-800 figure will come with a high quality mini diorama base stand, a scalpel and an alternative mechanical arm that can be attached to the figure. Initial release of the figures will be in November 2018.
Leave it to Hot Toys to make as many amazing high-end action figures based on the Black Panther movie. This time around we get T’Chaka. For good reason we are getting another of the Black Panthers in their warrior armor and just like Iron Man these could all be a part of my collection! T’Chaka is up for preorder over on Sideshow Toys now!
Finally today we have something that we wish we could add to our collection but probably shouldn’t shell out the cash, responsibly, for. J. Scott Campbell has been one of our favorite artists here at DFAT for a LONG time and his sexy fairy tale characters are a thing of legend. The next in the Fairytale Fantasies series from Sideshow is Alice in Wonderland and it is beautiful! You can sign up for the RSVP list now over at Sideshow.
That’s it for this week Towelites! Happy hunting!
