Toy enthusiasts, hunters, collectors, WELCOME! It’s almost summer and you know what that means, San Diego Comic Con. With some amazing announcements incoming, we are seeing some convention exclusives teased here and there. Keep it tooned to DFAT for news from the big show as we get closer to the date. Now let’s chat about some toy and collectibles news from the past week!
I am very excited that my Mezco Direct Deluxe Joker is on the way and that they went ahead and made this figure anyways. I really thought that the “punk” Joker would be canned but here he is and available for preorder. Not really my cup of tea when it comes to the character, but hey to each their own. You can check out the details for Joker: Clown Prince of Crime over at the official Mezco website, you can also preorder it there or at Big Bad Toy Store or Entertainment Earth.
Neca threw it down this week when it comes to pleasing their rabid fans. They announced two incredible SDCC exclusives, Hawkins from Predator who was played by Shane Black. Shane Black is also directing the upcoming movie The Predator, of which NECA will also be doing figures of. Hawkins is limited to 3000 pieces. Now that we are getting more famous faces as action figures (we recently got Aliens James Cameron) Guillermo Del Toro is also getting the plastic treatment. He comes packed with replica notebook that he used to write and design Pan’s Labyrinth. The figure is limited to 2000 pieces. Finally, and FINALLY we are getting an Ultimate Gremlin action figure and as usual the figure will come with a boatload of accessories. It’s due out this October!
Speaking of Pan’s Labyrinth and with everything Del Toro is hot right now Funko is also ready to get in on that game. Check out the Dorbz and POP! figures from the creepy movie. Gargoyles are on the rise again and hopefully this Disney treasure from the past can see a reemergence at some point. Funko released an official look at their POP!’s and I am more than excited!
Hasbro has revealed the final two figures from the upcoming Marvel Legends Venom Wave. We got a look at Typhoid Mary who to me looks like Hasbro took FULL advantage of the Mary Jane buck. I’m pretty sure I could have made that figure myself. The Venom “Monster” BAF does look pretty damn awesome but you know what I don’t collect these so it doesn’t really matter! Check them both out below.
Last but certainly not least, Image Comics‘ Shirtless Bear Fighter became the surprise hit of 2017. Skeleton Crew Studio will be making a couple of figures based on the comic, you can preorder them here. There are a couple differ versions and you can get them both in a handy dandy two-pack AND the figures come with a BEAR RUG!!
That’s it for this week Towelites! Happy Hunting!!
