Hello all, and welcome to another week of releases.
Not much this week, except for a favorite, which I’ll leave for last. Lets start off with the bad. Tyler Perry has a new one, but I won’t even mention the title. I shouldn’t even mention his name, but I really wanted to point out how much I dislike him, and how I think he’s a %$*#! I’ll continue with the next vomit worthy movie… The Host. Again another I wouldn’t bother mentioning, other then to point out how it’s from that horrible author of those horrible vampire books (and even worse movies). I could write an entire thesis and how bad those stories are, but whatever…
An interesting one is Spring Breakers. Starring James Franco, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, I feel like this movie would be some cheesy party movie. I haven’t seen it yet, but it actually got good reviews, and it seems like there is a darker, more serious side to it all. Plus, I think Franco is a pretty good actor, so that’s a positive aspect.
I’m a fan of Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, but unfortunately Admission didn’t get that good reviews. I’m sure to check it out when it’s free, on cable, but can’t vouch for the blu-ray/dvd.
This week we also get an animated release of Wolverine: Origin. Don’t know anything about this, but some of the latest animated comic movies are actually pretty good, so I’m hoping for decent. Plus, the cover looks freaking cool. Maybe Chaz or Cynicnerd had the insider scoop for this one?
Highlight of the week? Legend of Korra: Book One. For those of you who don’t know, this is from the same creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender. And for those of you who don’t know that… it’s the best freaking animated series of all time. Korra, though not as “special” as the original, is still amazing. The animation and style have been taken up a notch, and the way it ties into the world from the original Avatar. If you haven’t seen this, now is your chance. And if you haven’t seen the original series, get that and watch it first! No, serious… these shows are AMAZING! Even my girlfriend loved this show, and she’s not one to care for the nerdy/childlike things that I usually get obsessed for.
That’s it for the week, and I consider it a good one, just for Korra.
