You can’t keep a good symbiote down, at least not when it comes to the Venom film starring Tom Hardy. The Sony-produced movie was able to snag another $35 million at the Box Office this weekend, and earn the #1 spot in the Top Ten for the second weekend in a row. This solidified it in destroying the rest of the completion from First Man, Goosebumps 2, and Bad Times at the El Royale which took in 3rd, 4th, and 7th places respectively.
Honestly, the latter looked pretty weird and ambiguous and only the fact that Drew Goddard (Daredevil) wrote and directed it, did it even make me want to see it. In addition to Venom beating out this films, so did last week’s 2nd place film, A Star is Born; which went on to take in another $28 million. The rest of the Top Ten are below.
1.Venom $35,700,000
2. A Star Is Born $28,000,000
3. First Man $16,500,000
4. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween $16,225,000
5. Smallfoot $9,300,000
6. Night School $8,035,000
7. Bad Times at the El Royale $7,225,000
8. The House with a Clock in Its Walls $3,975,000
9. The Hate U Give $1,765,000
10. A Simple Favor $1,380,000
Next weekend, we have the return of Michael Myers into theaters with the new Halloween film. The movie has received great reviews from horror fans and Jamie Lee Curtis is, of course, all about it. Will it be able to slash it’s way into the #1 spot? Find out in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
