Another week, another top grossing Box Office movie for Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. The Joseph Kosinski directed film, Oblivion, raked in over $38mil. Surprisingly enough, with overseas sales, the film has totally brought close to $150mil! Taking in #2 spot is 42 with a $18mil. Pretty great for a baseball movie with no big name actors.
The rest of the Top 10 rounded out with Evil Dead, Jurassic Park, and Oz the Great and Powerful taking spots 8-10. Even with Cruise’s overseas success, there hasn’t been a domestic Blockbuster in some time. Next week, we will see Michael Bay‘s, Pain & Gain; which I’m super excited to watch! Yet, I don’t think audiences will gravitate towards it; though it will probably still #1. I’m holding out for Iron Man 3 to finally get the Box Office back on track and pull in a $80mil opening weekend.
